Innovation management has become a mainstream activity in many manufacturing and science-based industries, where there is a substantial body of knowledge supported by academic research. Far less is known about how to manage and improve upon the processes of technological and organisational innovation in project-based and complex systems industries. The ISC focuses on the why, what and how of the innovation process in this type of environment.
Key research theme is Innovation and Entrepreneurship, including research streams on large firm/small firm relationships in R&D and innovation, including alliances and entrepreneurial new forms of organization and knowledge development and transfer through inter-firm collaborations and alliances, and the industry-university interface.
